I'm really not finding too much initiative in it... how did you know what you wanted to do zehly? At this point in life, I'm just letting it take me wherever it wants, but I don't think that's going to be the best thing for me to do.

did he take any chemistry? i learned most of the periodic table in tenth grade, and im suprised now that im at college how many people have not a clue how to do ANYTHING science related or read a periodic table...and that scares me, because in my chem class of SIX HUNDRED people, theres not alot of time for individual questions, and so people go on with their lives clueless about these basics...thats probably what happened to your little friend...lol. Thats a scary lot of money to let an undergrad student near...as an undergrad i wouldnt touch it with a ten foot pole.

I took calculus in the 7th grade. When I was in 11th grade I was taking half high-school/half-college courses. The college courses were things like Advanced Differential Equations, Non-Euclidian Geometries, and University Physics. I also tested out of several physics/math courses.

Master's Degree for Physics = 4 years undergrad, 2 year post grad.

My current 2 Degrees:
Bachelor's Degree in General Physics (working on first year masters)
Bachelor's Degree in Theoretical Mathematics

I'm addicted to school. Why wouldn't I be. I have no other life. Not to mention, Monday through Friday:
Get up up at 5
Class at 7
Get out at 4
Work at 5
Get off at 9
Go to sleep at 1.
Repeat.

That's how I can have a degree.

Between this and thinking of a 20 year old asian girl in a lab coat... you just became very, very hot. Intelligent women are so sexy on so many intangible levels to me.

All the women I ever dated were highly intelligent. Wouldn't have it any other way. My wife has a BS in Chemical Engineering.

Zehly, you have my respect and admiration for what you've accomplished in so little time, and my sympathy for your fireworks show. (Man, Hydrogen and Helium...wow...now that's a screw-up for the Darwin awards...)

Echo, it is possible to be in college much earlier. When I was in school, there was a 15-year-old there taking 200-level classes as well (I was 19). Didn't talk much because of the age difference but he apparently passed all the tests. We all called him "Doogie"...but only in fun.

JW, but what would have happened if he has been sprayed with a hydrogen mist? Im just now starting Chem 2-3 so I really don't know much abut it.

Of course, I wouldn't attribute my major to any sign of intelligence as you all may have heard of various programming mistakes that have cost companies hundreds of billions of dollars all because some one forgot to include some input verification and someone used a buffer-overflow.

Liquid hydrogen is VERY cold. Recall the properties of hydrogen, and you'll find that it contains a lot of potential energy. Hydrogen gas has a lot of kinetic energy, as well. In order to turn it's kinetic energy into potential energy, and slow it down, it must be cooled to a very low temperature. (About -273 degress F).

Here is a little example. If I were to take a golf ball, douse it in liquid hydrogen, and drop it on the ground, it would shatter into a million pieces. The drastic change in temperature would make the golf ball brittle.

You can imagine what would happen to human flesh under these conditions. Simply put, the mist would have frozen his skin, and if he inhaled ever so slightly, would have frozen his lungs solid. It doesn't take a lot of liquid hydrogen-cum-gaseous to have this effect.

thanks zehly, and no i havent seen T2. or T or T3 for that matter. But it would have been pretty cool to see the effects of hytrogen vapor on the human body tho. Not for the squemish, but cool nonetheless. Im a 16 year old guy, so don't be offended by what I feel cool.

Liquid Nitrogen, Liquid Helium, Liquid Hydrogen, Liquid Flourine.. all of it would fsck you up. Virtually any liquid, light gas will give you a bad hair day. u_u
